Botox

Botox is an anti ageing treatment we commonly use to treat wrinkles and fine lines.

How does it work?

Botox (or to be specific Clotridium botulinum toxin A) is a wonder compound, that is injected in micro doses into superficial small muscles just under the surface of the skin. These muscles are responsible for the skin wrinkling and causing fine lines and wrinkles. Botox relaxes these muscles, thus reducing the appearance of these lines on your face.

How long does it take to see the full effect?

Full effects are seen in a week’s time.

How long does it last?

The effects last a good 5-6 months.

Will I need to keep doing botox if I get it done once?

Not at all. Botox temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkling. Once the effect wears off, the muscles go back to how they were before. So the wrinkles you already had will come back, but it cannot possibly cause new wrinkles. At this point, if you want, you can get another sitting, but you don’t HAVE to.

A lot of people only do it before a major function like a wedding in the family, to avoid makeup from cracking at the wrinkle lines.

What changes can I expect?

Botox will reduce wrinkles and fine lines on your face. It can give you a brow lift, with more arches eyebrows. You will appear youthful and relaxed. It can also be used for slimming of the face in people with bulky cheeks or jawlines.

Will my face become expressionless or mask-like?

Not at all! That’s a myth because of grossly overdone botox in celebrities. We believe in minimalistic botox, giving completely natural results. You SHOULD still have facial lines and a few wrinkles, to keep it natural. It’s just the excess that we need to get rid of. You will be able to move your face just fine, it’s not those muscles that we’ll be relaxing.

Where else is botox used?

-Excess sweating (hyperhidrosis)

-Open pores

-Squint and eyelid spasms

-Spastic muscles

-Keloids

-Contractures after burns and paralysis

-Migraines
