Hair threads or Scalp threads

One of the newest advances in hair growth technologies is the use of monofilament polydiaxonone (PDO) threads inserted into the scalp just under the surface of the skin, to stimulate hair growth.

It is used as an adjuvant to other topical treatments. It is a painless procedure as we apply a numbing cream for one hour prior to the procedure. Results start to show after 6 weeks of thread insertion.

How does it work?

The threads in the scalp cause enhanced expression of hair-related genes, and release of growth factors like PDGF, and possibly, direct activation of stem cells in the hair bulge area.
